{"id":923,"date":"2020-05-05T12:55:28","date_gmt":"2020-05-05T12:55:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wheelsmuseum.org\/?p=923"},"modified":"2020-05-05T12:55:28","modified_gmt":"2020-05-05T12:55:28","slug":"plan-ahead-swap-meet-and-car-show-postponed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wheelsmuseum.org\/?p=923","title":{"rendered":"Plan Ahead &#8211; Swap Meet and Car Show Postponed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>WHEELS Auto Parts and Car Show fund-raiser <\/strong>scheduled for (May 3, 2020) has been postponed, but not cancelled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WHEELS will post the information about the time, date, and location in a future newsletter. &nbsp;Booths will be available to sell and\/or display<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Auto parts&nbsp;<\/li><li>Jewelry<\/li><li>Crafts<\/li><li>Tools<\/li><li>Collectibles<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Corporate sponsorships available. &nbsp;Non-profit and government organizations welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To assure that a booth space will be available to you once we obtain more event details, please submit an email to <a href=\"mailto:jimglover34chevy@gmail.com\">jimglover34chevy@gmail.com<\/a> with \u201cSwap Meet\u201d in the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The 1930\u2019s Home Exhibit<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WHEELS is duplicating life in the 1930\u2019s with an exhibit of &nbsp;furnishings, appliances, literature, entertainment, etc., used during the heyday of the steam locomotive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ve been generously donated several pieces of furniture as well as appliances, and we are looking for more. &nbsp;If you have anything that might be used in this exhibit, no matter how large or small, please contact Leba (<a href=\"mailto:leba4@aol.com\">leba4@aol.com<\/a>), or phone the museum at 505-243-6269 and leave a message. &nbsp;WHEELS is also seeking volunteers to assist in the development of this project. &nbsp;Interior decorating from 90 years ago will be a whole lot fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Silver Iris Passenger Train<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Work on the air brakes of the Silver Iris is moving ahead. &nbsp;Numerous rubber hoses, heavy parts, and a great deal of expertise have gone into getting this beautiful 85 foot long, stainless steel private rail car ready to run. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This car was donated to WHEELS, and we\u2019ll certainly keep everyone informed about the improvements, developments, possible excursions, and visits to see this&nbsp;\u201cbaby\u201d with eight bedrooms and ten bathrooms. &nbsp; Think about \u201cRail Heritage Tourism.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>New Exhibits When WHEELS Reopens<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Vintage Studebaker Automobile<\/li><li>Hand Built Race Car<\/li><li>Military Artifacts<\/li><li>Rare Crosley Automobile<\/li><li>World War II Harley Davidson Motorcycle with Side Car<\/li><li>Model Planes<\/li><li>Remote Control Planes<\/li><li>Full Size Ultra Light Planes<\/li><li>American Flyer Model Trainsle<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Call for Volunteers<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WHEELS counts on volunteers to get multiple jobs accomplished. &nbsp;We love that we can depend on many talented people in our community. &nbsp;Please think about which of these jobs you would like to do, and contact WHEELS (505-243-6269):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Displaying and cataloging model airplanes<\/li><li>Displaying and cataloging model trains<\/li><li>Converting our library into a 1930\u2019s home. &nbsp;<\/li><li>All gauge model railroad engineers to run the trains<\/li><li>Large and small display builders for our new exhibits.<\/li><li>Speakers bureau for transportation related topics<\/li><li>Gift shop workers<\/li><li>Fundraising Events<\/li><li>Membership Events<\/li><li>Grant Writers<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WHEELS exists thanks to the help and friendship of our wonderful volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The WHEELS at WHEELS are Turning!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The WHEELS Auto Parts and Car Show fund-raiser scheduled for (May 3, 2020) has been postponed, but not cancelled.
